Easy design of post-installed rebar links

New fischer REBARFIX 3.0 software

The fischer group of companies of Waldachtal offers planners and structural engineers a new software for designing post-installed rebar links in concrete and for the fischer FRAU threaded anchor. REBARFIX 3.0 is available free on DVD or for downloading at www.fischer.de.

The refurbishment or reconstruction of older buildings often requires post-installed and mortared reinforcement links. The easy, quick, reliable and user-friendly design of these links is indispensable in the everyday work of planners and structural engineers. Their design is defined in the concrete construction standard DIN 1045-1:2008-08 and in the approvals by the German Institute for Construction Technology (DIBt) for injection systems. The REBARFIX 3.0 software developed and provided free by fischer fully complies with these requirements.

The user interface of the program in Windows Vista layout is based on empirical data gained with technical construction software which is very user-friendly, intuitive and quick to learn thanks to its drop-down entry feature. Using its multi-functional input mask, all necessary base values and parameters can be selected or modified without much toggling or switching: geometry, fire protection, concrete grade, type of drill and load data. Working in the background, the program determines the load capacity rating of the selected bars.

Basic settings such as rows of bars or single bars are pre-installed for convenient selection. Optional settings also account for fire protection in buildings.

The result line at the lower part of the screen shows the load capacity limit of the selected anchoring. The “error list” highlights incorrect entries and shows important parameters such as the exposure category of the type of anchoring. The result page of the program interface shows both the selected structural steel diameter and the adjacent steel diameters, allowing a quick overview and the investigation of alternatives. The user is always in full control of the results and can make the appropriate changes for obtaining a positive result.

REBARFIX 3.0 also computes the required quantities and materials such as mortar and resin volumes, number of cartridges, etc. The menu item „Sortimente“ (Product Ranges) gives the user access to the well-known fischer injection resins FIS V (vinyl ester hybrid) and FIS EM (epoxy resin), both with German national approval by the DIBt and a European Technical Approval (ETA) for post-installed reinforcement links. These system approvals allow the safe design and execution of the rebar links. With REBARFIX 3.0, the necessary proofs can be made professionally and with minimum time and effort.

The intuitive software is also the tool of choice for the easy and convenient design of the fischer reinforcement threaded anchor FRA for fixing steel construction elements, railings, brackets, stairs and machines.

REBARFIX 3.0 will be available in a number of language versions in the course of the years, with English available in early 2010. Changing from one language to another during the design process is no problem. This tool is particularly advantageous when there is a need for skipping to the language of the target country for printing the designs.

The design program is compatible with the Windows 2000Ò, Windows XPÒ (32Bit/64Bit) and Windows VistaÒ (32Bit/64Bit) operating systems.

REBARFIX 3.0 gives the user the opportunity to construct and design safe and economical reinforcements quickly and without much effort, giving invaluable support in the everyday work. The new version is available free on DVD as fischer Design Software and as internet download at www.fischer.de.
