fischer Hammer Drill Range

Trueness with four cutting edges

The new range of hammer drills by fischer sets standards in drilling technology: long tool life, fast drilling progress and ultimate comfort make drilling work easier. The model range including the Quattric, the Pointer and the SDS Max is made entirely in Germany.

fischer is the fixing specialist holding most construction approvals for its products. The outstanding properties of the plugs and anchors fully come to bear when the drills also have to meet ultimate requirements and are matched for setting drill holes for perfect plug and anchor connections.

fischer drills carry the PGM® test symbol, which means that only these drills may be used for anchor connections requiring approval. They drill precise, exact and dimensionally true holes with speed and efficiency. Plugs and anchors are set and inserted easily and reach ultimate retaining values inside the drill hole. Even under extreme action effect, the drills have a particularly long tool life.

The range includes three models: SDS Plus II Pointer, SDS Plus IV Quattric and SDS Max. All of these new fischer drills share one technical feature: they have an optimised connecting surface between the carbide cutting edges and the drill body. The carbide cutting edge is embedded deep in the steel body and firmly soldered in place. The high-grade steel used is specially surface-hardened, guaranteeing ultimate torsion strength and stiffness. The drill head geometry prevents the drilling head breaking off or getting jammed in the drill hole and so making the drill hole useless. High break resistance and low wear ensure a long tool life and help to cut costs. The drill tips are available with two or four cutting edges. All fischer drills have a centring tip for point accurate spot drilling. An extensive range of accessories including chisels is also available.

SDS Plus II Pointer

The SDS Plus II Pointer is one of the world’s fastest and most long-lived SDS Plus drills. It is designed for use in hammer percussion drills with SDS-plus chucks and dual groove interlocking and is particularly suitable for drilling in concrete, natural stone and masonry.

The chisel-shaped dual-edged drilling tip penetrates the building material with extraordinary speed and saves time through rapid drilling progress. Its patented core-reinforced drill helix guarantees the optimised transfer of energy without loss, even and low-vibration running, ultimate stability and excellent drill dust removal.

The PGM® certification prescribed by law in all fixings requiring approval guarantees close tolerances for the drill cutting dimensions, the symmetrical soldering of the carbide cutting edges and the true running of the drills. This creates dimensionally stable drill holes suitable for plug and anchors over the total life of the drill. – A definite plus in terms of safety

The fischer SDS Plus II Pointer range covers all dimensions from Æ 4/50/110 mm to Æ 26/400/450 mm which are found in practical applications.

SDS Plus IV Quattric

Next to other advantages, fischer anchors and plugs are the better choice because they can be set very close to the edges of the members without the concrete spalling off. The same requirements also apply when it comes to setting the drill holes. This where the fischer SDS Plus IV Quattric with its four-edged geometry shows its true strength, running smoothly, low in vibrations and very evenly. The even support of the four-fluted drilling helix creates precise drill holes with ultimate dimensional stability, guaranteeing maximum retaining power of the anchors and plugs. In a precision-set drill hole, the anchor needs only a short section for expanding, tightening quickly and evenly. The fischer SDS Plus IV Quattric drills as many as 50% more anchor-matching drill holes than similar competitors’ products.

The carbide hammer drill certified by the Prüfgemeinschaft Mauerbohrer PGM® (Test Association Masonry Drills) is suitable for drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete, hard natural stone and masonry. It is designed for use with hammer percussion drills with SDS-plus chucks and dual groove interlocking.

The four cutting edges of the one-part carbide metal plate of the fischer SDS Plus IV Quattric are extremely robust even under the toughest of conditions. The regular geometry of the drilling tip prevents the drill from jamming in reinforcements. The patented reinforcement chamfer at the end of the cutting edges also helps and prevents the drill from cogging or the drill tip from breaking off which would effectively “block off” the drill hole.

The fischer SDS Plus IV Quattric range covers all dimensions from Æ 6/50/110 mm to Æ 26/400/450 mm which are found in practical applications.

SDS Max

The SDS Max is a carbide hammer drill for drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete, natural stone and masonry. It makes precision drill holes with ultimate dimensional stability also for demanding applications such as in post-installed reinforcement links. The SDS Max, certified by the Prüfgemeinschaft Mauerbohrer PGMâ, is designed for use in hammer percussion drills with SDS-plus chuck and dual groove interlocking.

The four-edged drill tip with chisel-shaped central edge penetrates the building material much quicker and shows its true robustness when hitting reinforcements. Its patented core-reinforced drill helix guarantees the optimised transfer of energy without loss, even and low-vibration running, ultimate stability and excellent drill dust removal. The shortened conical helix inlets make for faster progress by removing the drill dust quicker than similar competitors’ products.

The fischer SDS Max range covers all dimensions from Æ 12/200/340 mm to Æ 40/800/920 mm which are found in practical applications.
